Newly Admitted In-service Students

Newly Admitted In-service Students

Congratulations!  You've been admitted to the In-service Program at John Jay College.  Please refer to the checklist below to begin registering for the Spring 2023 semester:

Step 1.  Submit Immunization Records/COVID-19 Vaccine

Students can submit the immunization form to the John Jay College Student Health Center at:

Please visit http://www.jjay.cuny.edu/immunization for details and to download the form. The Health Office will review the documents and contact you directly if any additional information is required.

In order to attend in-person/hybrid courses and access the campus for student services, CUNY requires all students to be fully vaccinated (two weeks beyond their last vaccine shot).

Upload your COVID -19 documents if you have not already done so.

• You must upload your CDC COVID-19 vaccination card or a medical exemption or religious exception request into CUNYfirst. Medical exemptions and religious exceptions are evaluated on a case-by-case basis; they are not automatically granted.

• Here is a step-by-step video on how to upload your Vaccination Documents

• Here are step-by-step written instructions on how to upload your Vaccination Documents

Here are some tips to complete the upload:

• Please make sure that you upload both dose information on the upload. You have to put the information in for the 1st dose and then, once completed, you have to hit the blue “+” button which is on the top right of that box. Then, you need to upload the 2nd dose information. If you got a J&J shot, you just need to upload 1 dose information.

• DO NOT CHECK the EXCELSIOR PASS attestation box. If you do, you must be able to provide a screen-shot of your NYS Excelsior pass. You do not need to take this step.

• Please include your full name and EMPLID number ({#EMPLID#}) when you email the health Office or the campus LVA.

Exceptions to the vaccination requirement are available if you have a medical contraindication or sincere religious belief that prevents you from receiving a Covid-19 vaccine. More information about exemptions is available in the FAQs.

Failure to upload your COVID-19 vaccine verification or request a medical/religious exemption will result in you being blocked from registration.

Please visit the #VaxUpCUNY webpage for information on where to get a free shot near you, and CUNY’s policies. If you have any questions or other concerns regarding vaccination and attending in-person classes, please do not hesitate to reach out to Student Health Services Office at healthoffice@jjay.cuny.edu.

Step 2.  Activate Your CUNYfirst Account

All students are required to register online via CUNYfirst. CUNYfirst gives students access to register for classes, view schedule and grades, etc.

You may activate your CUNYfirst account by clicking here and clicking on “New User” and following the prompts. Once you successfully complete this process, an 8-digit EMPL ID (CUNY ID) will be generated.  Please keep your EMPL ID number readily available at all times, as your EMPL ID will be used in lieu of your social security number.

Step 3.  Setup Your New John Jay Email
