Bulk Downloading YuJa Recordings

YuJa will no longer be available to faculty as of December 31, 2024.

When using Bulk Media Management for downloads, you have the option to download the files within a single ZIP file or in a separate file format.

  1. Log in to Blackboard > open any course

  2. Locate the YuJa tool link to enter the YuJa Media Library. (this may be in your course menu) If you do not see it, you can add it by

    a) clicking the “+” at the top of the menu
    b) selecting Tool Link,
    c) naming it YuJa, and then
    d) locating John Jay YuJa from the dropdown.

  3. Once you are in the YuJa tool, navigate to Manage Media at the top of the screen. You have the option of selecting My Media or selecting the desired file you want to be downloaded.

  4. You can select multiple video files one at a time by using ctrl-click on Windows or command-click on Mac. You can select multiple files simultaneously, by clicking and dragging over the files you wish to download.

  5. Click More Actions at the top of the screen and click Bulk Download.

  6. You will then be prompted to select which media you would like to download and various options on how to download the media. Refer to the list below for available download options:

    Choose Download Option: For multistream videos the Single File option will download one video file that includes all the streams. Selecting Separate Files for a multi-stream video will download each stream as an individual video file.

    Download As: Selecting a Single ZIP File will give you access to a ZIP file containing all the selected media. Selecting Separate Links will provide you with a download link for each selected media item. 

    Burn-In Caption: Select any captions to include in the downloaded video.

  7. Once you have selected your media files and adjusted your download settings, click Request Media.

    You will then receive an email within 24 hours containing the links to download your files.
    Note: The links sent through email expire 24 hours after being sent.
