John Jay College of Criminal Justice, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY), is an internationally recognized leader in educating for justice, committed to the advancement of justice and just societies. John Jay is a public liberal arts college that enriches the entire learning experience by highlighting themes of justice across the arts, sciences, humanities, and social sciences.
In support of the promotion of scholarly activity, the publication and performance of works, and grantsmanship at John Jay College, the Office for the Advancement of Research (OAR) oversees research compliance activities and provides education, training and support for the research community on Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), Conflict of Interest (COI), Research Agreements, Export Control, and other areas. Working with the Office of Sponsored Programs, OAR also provides oversight for compliance with various grant and funding requirements.
Our overarching goal is to promote a culture of active, engaged, and ethical research with shared responsibility for integrity and compliance. We aim to be an office recognized for its committment to ethical research and to provide tools and education for John Jay College researchers to conduct their research with integrity and in compliance with applicable regulatory and institutional requirements.
