ISP Ambassadors

ISP Ambassadors

Who are the ISP Ambassadors?

There are four friendly, accomplished and experienced ISP students who will welcome you to our program in the beginning of the semester and continue to support you throughout. The ambassadors’ mission is to help new students feel at home in ISP, familiarize them with our teaching style and help strengthen our community. For that purpose, the ambassadors organize a welcome lunch and different Community Hour events and workshops during the semester.

My name is Cami Achury. I am a junior at John Jay majoring in Deviance, Crime, and Culture with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution. Taking an ISP course was the best decision I could've made. ISP allows me to open myself to different perspectives and connect with others. Being involved during classes continues to allow me to understand others and find a solution to an issue with a new perspective to different backgrounds. My goal as an ISP Ambassador is to help students understand the benefit of ISP and how it will positively impact them in the future. I hope I am able to encourage students to continue ISP throughout their academic journey at John Jay.

My name is Emily Chavez. I am majoring in Political Science at John Jay. I was a freshman during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, which created challenges for me in the first semester. However, I was able to overcome them with the overwhelming support of the ISP department and ISP ambassadors. Now joining them as a new addition to the team, I have the opportunity to support other students. Although this is my second year at John Jay, I feel confident in pursuing my future career in being a Lawyer with the support of the ISP community.

Hello!  My name is Farzanna Ally.  I am a junior at John Jay majoring in Fraud Examination & Financial Forensics with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I took my first ISP class at the start of my freshman year and had no idea what I was getting myself into.  But ISP grew on me.  Beginning college is hectic, so being an ISP ambassador is important to me. My job as an ambassador is to always be there to support you and guide you.  Everyone in ISP has always been so helpful even when my worries or questions had nothing to do with ISP.  I hope to meet you all soon.
