Interested in helping your fellow John Jay students?

First and foremost, we hope that under the current challenging circumstances, you and your family are alright and are getting the support that you need.  The Academic Advisement Center is able to be a part of that support.  While we operate on a remote basis, here are the ways to get in contact with us:

  • Make an appointment with an advisor via Advisortrac.  Advising appointments are being held in one of three ways:
    1) Online platform appointment.  All John Jay students are eligible for a free Zoom account by using your John Jay username and password.  In our experience, this is the easiest and most efficient way to get you advised!  Through Zoom, advisors are able to screen share and show helpful tools such as your transcript and degree audit.
    2) Phone appointment.  Ahead of your appointment time, you will receive an email from your advisor with a phone number to call at the time of your appointment.
    3) Email appointment.  Advisors will require that you send an email at the time of your appointment outlining your questions and what you wish to discuss.
  • Our phone line is currently being forwarded through Google Voice.  You may call us (646.557.4872 or 646.557.4816) Monday - Thursday from 9am - 5pm and Friday from 9am - 1pm.
  • We are checking our main email address ( and advisors are checking personal email addresses Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.

Given the current circumstances, the deadline to apply for the Peer Advisor position has been extended indefintely.  For those interested in applying, please go here for application materials.  All application materials must be emailed to  For all students who have already applied, thank you!  You will receive information regarding next steps once we are able to put things into place.  Many thanks in advance for your patience.  We look forward to speaking with you further!
